Continue Your Game: The Jam - Devlog #3: The Jam Continues!


Hey! It's me again. After petering out a little bit halfway through the first round of this jam, I've decided to re-enter for round two! This is due in large part to the positive reaction that some folks had to my shabby little game, so if you left a comment or gave me feedback in any way: Thank you for motivating me!

To start the jam off right, I've uploaded my most recent version of Exit the Dungeon! It has some rough edges, but I figure that none of our games are complete and I have decided to stop being so damn precious about that. Improvements include:

-An opening cutscene (unfinished)
-Cutscene in room 3 after obtaining the sword, cannot progress with out it now
-Redid the imp enemy and pickups design (no more mixels!)
-Added TWO secrets
-Decorations in room 11
-Added a 5 coin denomination
-Added a lever that opens the new section
-A bunch of fiddly code changes that I don't remember and only I would care about

Goals for this round are:

-Finish the opening cutscene (This is me every time I see the cutscene)
-In-game shop
-Secondary control scheme, plus keybinding and maybe a control binding for Mac? (my game has controller support btw.)
-Build out the next section (cell block)
-mini-boss
-Start the in-game instruction manual (accessible from pause menu)
-Actually post a devlog every 2-3 days or so lol
-Actually play and leave a comment on all the other participants' games, or at least the ones accessible through browser and ones that aren't too sus.
