Continue Your Game: The Jam - Devlog #1
Hello all!
My name is Dan. I've been doing game dev as a hobby for about 5 months¹ and have been really enjoying it! I started off trying to make my "Dream Game", which lasted about 5 minutes because I quickly realized that I didn't have the skills to make that idea a reality. From there, I set my sights on making a game that I could make and ended up with a playable demo for Exit the Dungeon!²
Although this isn't the game of my dreams™, I've really grown to like it and want to continue it. Everything that you see so far has been done by me, myself and I. Feedback on the original demo is greatly appreciated.
My goals for this game jam, outside of general debugging and tileset fixing, are:
- Add an opening cut scene.
- Add enemies to room 1-3 that spawn after getting the sword
- Save and Load system.
- Start building the next section of the level
- New tank enemy (Kniferantula)
- Mini-boss? - this is a stretch goal
Tools used:
- Godot
- Aesprite
- Beepbox
Devlogs will be posted as goals are achieved.
Thanks and good luck on your games!

1. (previous experience includes a couple of game maker games that are lost forever and a lot of starcraft campaign editor back in the day)
2. I know there's a game called Exit the Gungeon. I may change it but I do kind of like the current title.
